About Transport Industry Skills Board
A new era for industry-led skills in Aotearoa The Industry Skills Boards (ISBs) are officially here — marking a major step forward in how vocational education and training responds to the needs of industry. The Transport ISB represents some of Aotearoa’s most dynamic, safety-critical, and fast-evolving sectors — including transport, automotive, logistics, aviation, maritime, rail, and supply chain. We will be working alongside employers, industry bodies, and training partners to ensure training reflects the real world: regulatory environments, safety requirements, emerging technologies, and changing workforce demands and demographics. Our focus is simple and ambitious: - making sure learners are genuinely work-ready - ensuring industry has trust and confidence in the system - helping build a workforce that is sustainable, globally connected, and future-focused - supporting opportunity and inclusion, particularly for those historically underserved - contributing to national priorities and productivity, including decarbonisation, advanced logistics capability, licensing pathways, and safety-critical skills This is about setting Aotearoa up with the skills it needs to thrive. If you’re an employer, industry leader, or training provider in these sectors, we’re keen to connect. The system works best when industry leads, so get in touch.
