Trike is a Melbourne-based product design and engineering studio specialising in complex, technically demanding products, where deep integration of industrial design, mechanical engineering, and user experience is required to reach market successfully. For over 20 years (formerly Tricycle Developments), we've partnered with founders, R&D teams, engineering managers, and product leads across four sectors: Medical — point-of-care diagnostics, wearable diagnostics, aged care assistive technology, and connected health devices. Consumer — IoT products, audio technology, recreational equipment, child safety, and premium accessories. Scientific — laboratory instrumentation, biological sample management, and field equipment. Industrial — clean tech, mining equipment, safety systems, and harsh-environment hardware. Many of our client relationships span a decade or more, supporting brands across multiple product generations and launches, not just a single project. We become a trusted extension of your team; embedded in your roadmap, fluent in your brand, and invested in your long-term success. For many clients, we are effectively their product design and engineering department. Our in-house team of 25+ designers and engineers covers the full development journey: human factors research, industrial design, UX/UI, mechanical engineering, electromechanical integration, DFM, prototyping, pre-compliance testing, and production transfer, backed by a purpose-built Melbourne studio and workshop. We are ISO 9001 certified and a registered Research Service Provider. We don't do electronics or firmware design, but work closely with trusted specialist partners when projects require it. 400+ products. 20+ years.
