About Two Bridges College Consulting
I founded Two Bridges because I saw so many students choosing where they’d spend the next four years of their lives without gathering enough data to make wise decisions. I saw tension between parents and their college-bound children. I saw fear and insanity taking over a time that should be one of self-discovery and excitement. That's where I come in. My mission is to bring sanity to the transition from high school to college. Families can feel that they are facing a journey without a map or a GPS. They have only a vague idea of a destination—a “good college”—and don’t see how to get from here to there. Two Bridges creates a personalized map and eases the stress within a family. I spend many, many hours getting to know each student’s personality, values, interests, and hopes. It’s one reason why I love what I do. Another reason? As a student of colleges, I’m constantly learning about programs, admissions, and trends in higher education. The name “Two Bridges” reflects my belief that there’s more than one path to a successful future. Lists of “best colleges” ignore the human element in the equation. I get to know my students well enough to know what schools will be the right fit for them. I develop a broad college list that fits the student academically, personally, and financially. I help the student research that list and whittle it down to a reasonable number of actual applications. Then I guide the student through the applications, with special attention to the essays. It doesn’t end when they’ve hit the submit button. I help students remember to check their email, manage their college portals, understand the various types of decisions, evaluate financial awards, and develop a rubric to decide on “The One.” Whatever questions arise, I provide the answers.
