About Unincorporated Protocol
Modern users hand their data to corporations and trust the corporation's word that it's safe. We disagree with that arrangement. Unincorporated Protocol is open infrastructure for Data Access Transparency — a per-user cryptographic chain that records every privileged read of customer data (human admin or AI agent) and lets the customer verify the chain themselves, in their own browser, without trusting the vendor's word. When a human admin touches your data, you should know. When an AI agent touches your data, you must know. We are the camera, not the locked door — we record what was accessed in a chain the customer verifies; we don't block what the actor does. Different category from runtime guardrails; complementary, not competing. We ship a tamper-evident transparency proxy in front of Postgres, MongoDB, and S3 — the AGPLv3 reference implementation of the protocol — plus a managed tier for companies that want the property without running the infrastructure. What's structurally different: SOC 2, ISO 27001, internal audit logs, and SIEM all attest to the vendor. The Unincorporated Protocol attests to the user. The cryptographic verification runs client-side; the vendor cannot fake a passing result. Trust, owed to your users — not promised by vendors.
