About Union Cement Company (Pr.J.S.C)
Set up in 1972 in the Khor Khwair Industrial Area, Ras Al Khaimah, Union Cement Company is the first cement producer of United Arab Emirates. H.H. Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of UAE inaugurated the unit in 1973, few months after the foundation of the UAE federation, flagging off a journey to become an organization that is diversified and self-reliant is committed to contribute to the economic development of the nation and create value for all its stakeholders. In alignment to our goal to provide products of the highest standard, Union Cement Company was the first cement manufacturer in the Middle East, to have obtained the ISO and API certifications. We have been steadily adding capacity and markets, along with leveraging a logistically advantageous position with our proximity to the Mina Saqr Port, and have emerged to be one of the leading domestic suppliers and exporters of cement and clinker. We serve the markets in Gulf, Middle East, Africa and Asia. Our products have been used in several prestigious projects such as the Dubai Golf Club, Burj Al Arab, and Abu Dhabi Mall, to name a few. Adapting sustainable manufacturing practices is integral to us, a significant aspect of which is reducing environmental emissions and power generation through Waste Heat Recovery. The current installed capacity for green power generation is 26.5 MW.
