This is extremely challenging as VA is the second largest federal agency and operates the largest integrated healthcare system in the United States. The OIG accomplishes its mission through audits, inspections, investigations and reviews. VA OIG’s work focuses on detecting and preventing waste, abuse, and criminal activity, as well as improving the economy, effectiveness, and efficiency of VA programs and operations.
